Whole Cashews - 1\4 cup |
Whole or Broken Cashews - 1\4 cup |
Onion - 1 no (chopped) |
Ginger - 1" |
Garlic - 7 cloves |
Dry Red Chili - 3 nos |
Butter - 1 tbsp |
Prawn | Eraal - 300 gm (de-veined) |
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Salt - as required |
Butter - 1 tbsp |
Red Chili Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Lemon Juice - 1\2 no |
Method : |
Soak the cashews separately with hot water for half an hour. Keep the whole cashews to cook separately. Grind the other cashews into fine paste with required water and keep aside. |
Grind the onion, ginger, garlic and dry red chili into paste with out adding extra water. |
Heat the butter in a kadhai, add the prawns and soaked whole cashews. Cook for an minute. Add the turmeric powder and required salt, mix well and cook until dry. Keep aside. |
To make the prawn cashew masala, in the same kadhai, melt the remaining butter, add the ground onion mixture, cook until its raw smell leaves. Add the red chili powder and required salt. Stir few seconds. Add the ground cashew paste and cook for about one minute over low flame, by stirring frequently. Add the sauteed prawn-cashew mixture, mix well and cook for one minute. Finally add the lemon juice, mix well and serve hot. |
Notes: Cashew paste will stick and burn at the bottom, so cook over low flame by stirring frequently. |
