Drum Stick - 1 no (cut into 3"long) Toor Dal - 1/2 cup Shallots - 1/2 cup (else Large Onion - 1no) Tomato - 2 no (chopped) Green Chili - 3 no (no need to chop) Tamarind Water - 1 cup (1" ball size) (optional) Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp Coriander Powder - 1 tsp Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp Coriander Leaves - 2 tsp (chopped) + garnish Oil - 1 tsp Water - 1 and 1/2 cup + 1 cup Salt to taste.
