Ingredients :

Plums - 250gm
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Gingelly Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to Taste.

Preparation :

  • Wash and wipe the plums, then cut into small pieces and discard the seeds. (show in above image)

Steps To Make The Plums Pickle :

  • Heat oil in a hot kadhai and temper the mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add the curry leaves and saute few seconds. (Image 1)
  • Add in the plums, saute and cook for an minute over simmer. (Image 2)
  • Add in the red chili powder, turmeric powder and required salt, mix altogether. (Image 3)
  • And cook for about 2 or 3mins or until the oil is separate from the pickle and remove from the flame. (Image 4)
  • Then cool completely and store in a air-tight container box.
