I like this payasam very much from my childhood days. This is also one of our traditional recipe. If you have milk, semiya and javvarisi at home, then you can make easily. Ingredients :

Vermicelli sago Milk Payasam
Boiled Milk - 500 ml
Sago | Javvarisi - 1 cup
Vermicelli | Semiya - 1\2 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Cashew nuts - 20 no
Raisins - 20 no
Green Cardamom - 5 pod (crushed or powdered)
Water - 2 cup + 2 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp

Steps To Make The Vermicelli Sago Milk Payasam | சேமியா சவ்வரிசி பால் பாயசம்:

Preparation, first wash and soak the javvarisi | sago for about two hours with two cup of water.
To make the payasam, boil the remaining two cup of water in a pan, add in the soaked javvarisi with its water, cook for ten to fifteen minutes over simmer or until it turns transparent and soft.
Semiya Javvarisi Paal Payasam

Meantime, ghee roast the cashew-nuts and raisins till light golden colour in a kadhai. Add the semiya | vermicelli and roast for an minute till it becomes golden brown colour. Then transfer them into the boiling javvarisi mixture, mix well and cook for another five minutes over simmer only.
Semiya Javvarisi Paal Payasam
Add the sugar and cook till its dissolved completely. Then add the crushed cardamom and mix well. Finally pour the filtered boiled milk, mix well and bring to boil. Then remove from the flame and serve.
