Chicken Curry with Coriander, Mint and Curd



Ingredients :

Chicken Curry with Coriander, Mint and Curd Ingredients

Chicken - 500gm
Coriander Leaves - 1/4 cup (chopped)
Curd - 3/4 cup
Mint Leaves - 1/4 cup (chopped)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Ginger and Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Green Chili - 3no (slit)
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Marinate : (1/2 an hour)

Curd - 1/4 cup
Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Required Salt.

Method :


  • First marinate chicken with mentioned ingredients for 1/2 an hour.
  • To make chicken curry, heat oil in pan, add ginger garlic paste and onion, stir well until raw smell leaves.
  • Add green chili and marinated chicken pieces, stir well and cook for 5min.
  • Stir in red chili  powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder and turmeric powder until raw smell leaves.
  • Add mint leaves and coriander leaves, stir well for an minute.
  • Add curd, required salt and 1/2 cup of water, mix well and cook for 15 to 20 min in simmer.
  • (for Pressure cooker, no need to add water and just cook for 1 whistle and 5min in simmer, when all the steam has escaped, open pressure cooker and ready)
  • Ready to serve and garnish with coriander leaves.


Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Chapati, Idly or Dosa.

Keep an eye on it when you take the lid off or it will certainly thicken too much. Was ok, but can't say I'll be making Dhaniya chicken.
