Mutton Vindaloo | Goat Meat Vindaloo | மட்டன் வின்டாலு - Easy Pressue Cooker Method


Mutton Vindaloo


Ingredients :

Mutton Vindaloo Ingredients

Mutton - 250 gm (washed and chopped)
Shallots \ Small Onion - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Potato - 1 no (boiled, skin peeled off, chopped)
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt to taste.

To Grind into Paste :

Dry Red Chili - 5 no
Garlic - 6 Clove
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Cardamon - 2 pod
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Vinegar - 2 tsp

Method :


Steps To Make Mutton Vindaloo :
  • First grind the mentioned ingredients with vinegar into paste and keep aside.


  • Heat ghee / oil in a pressure cooker pan, add onion and saute until the onion becomes slightly golden brown colour.
  • Add the mutton / meat pieces and stir well until its moisture has reduced completely.
  • Now add ground masala paste and satue until its raw smell leaves.


  • Add coriander leaves and stir for few seconds.
  • Pour water and required salt, mix well, cover the lid and cook for 1 whistle and 15min in simmer.
  • When all the steam has escaped, open the pressure cooker pan, add boiled potato and cook for 3 to 5 min and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Rice and Mutton Sukka or Mutton Masala Sukka or Mint Coriander Mutton Masala Sukka or Fennel Seeds / Sombu Mutton Sukka
