Quail Gravy with Almond and Milk

Ingredients :

Quail Gravy with Almond and Milk

Quail / Kaadai - 3 nos (chopped)
Almond / Badam - 20 nos (soaked in hot water for 1/2 an hour, peel)
Milk - 1 cup (Boiled and room temperature)
Small Onion - 1/2 cup (chopped)
Crushed Garlic - 10 nos
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
Water - 1/4 cup
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Spices :

Cinnamon Stick - 2 nos (2" long)
Cloves - 5 nos
Star Anise - 1 no
Cardamom - 3 pods

Method :

Quail Gravy with Almond and Milk

  • Heat Oil in a Pressure Cooker pan, roast all mentioned spices, then add Small Onion and Garlic, saute until light golden brown colour.
  • Add Quail / Kaadai, saute until there should not be moisture.
  • Then add Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Pepper Powder and required Salt, saute until raw smell leaves.

Quail Gravy with Almond and Milk

  • Add Ground Almond Paste (grind Almond with little milk), Milk and Water, stir well.
  • Close the lid and cook for 1 whistle and 5mins in simmer. When all the steam has escaped, open Pressure Cooker, stir well and ready to serve.

Quail Gravy with Almond and Milk

Serving Suggestion : Serve Hot with White Rice or Chapati or Dosa.
