Ingredients :

Millte : Varagu Arisi Pulav | Kodo Millet Pulao | வரகரிசி / வரகு-அரிசி புலாவ் - Easy Pressure Cooker Cooking Method

Varagu Arisi \ Kodo Millet - 1 and 1/2 cup (washed, drained)
Coconut Milk - 2 cup (1/4 coconut)
Shallots \ Small Onion - 15 no
Green Chili - 2 no
Garlic - 7 no
Mint Leaves - 1/2 cup
Cloves - 5 no
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Garnish - Cashewnuts (required, ghee roasted)
Salt to Taste

Method :

Steps To Make Varagu Arisi Pulav :
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker pan and roast the cloves. (Image 1)
  • Add shallots, green chili, garlic and curry leaves, saute for an minute. (Image 2)
  • Add mint leaves and saute for few seconds. (Image 3)
  • Add varagu arisi (washed and drained) and saute for few seconds. (Image 4)

  • Pour coconut milk, water and required salt, mix well. (Image 5 and 6)
  • Close the lid and cook for 1 whistle and 5min in simmer.
  • When all the steam has escaped, open the pressure cooker pan, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 7 and 8)
