Curry Leaves - 1 handful
Boiled Rice \ Pulungal Arisin- 1/2 cup
Split Bengal Gram \ Kadhalai Paruppu - 1/3 cup
Split Red Gram \ Thuvaram Paruppu - 1/3 cup
Shallots - 1/2 cup
Coconut Shred - 1/2 cup
Dry Red Chilli - 2 no
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - required
Salt to Taste

Steps To Make The Karuveppillai Paruppu Adai Batter and Adai :

  • To make the karuveppillai adai batter, first soak the rice and dal together for an hour, then wash and drain the water and keep aside. (Image 1)

  • Then grind the soaked ingredients with dry red chilli, cumin seeds, fennel seeds and required salt into coarsely. (Image 2 and 3)
  • Add in the shallots, curry leaves and coconut, again grind little with required water and keep side. (Image 4 and 5)

  • Heat tawa and make adai with oil or ghee, cook on both sides over simmer for about 3 mins (+ or -) and ready to serve. (Image 6 and 7)
