Pachai Mochai Payaru \ Green Lima Beans - 1 cup
Shallots - 1/3 cup (chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
Garlic - 7 cloves
Green Chilli - 2 no (2" long)
Red Chilli Powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coconut Paste - 1/4 cup
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (1 and 1/2" ball size tamarind used)
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Gingelly Oil - 3 tbsp
Water - required
Salt to Taste. |
Steps To Cook The Fresh Green Lima Beans \ Pachai Mochai Payaru :
- In a pressure cooker pan, add the pachai mochai payaru \ green lima beans with a cup of water and bring to boil.
- Cook for 1 whistle and 2mins over simmer, when all the steam has escaped, open carefully and ready to use. (Image 1)

Steps To Make The Fresh Green Lima Beans \ Pachai Mochai Payaru Curry :
- To make the curry, heat the oil in a utensil and temper the mustard seeds and urad dal. (Image 2)
- After splutter add in the shallots, garlic cloves and curry leaves, saute till the onion becomes translucent. (Image 3)
- Stir in the tomato and green chilli, saute till the tomatoes becomes tender. (Image 4)
- Add the red chilli powder, coriander seeds powder, turmeric powder and required salt, stir well until its raw smell leaves completely. (Image 5)

- Then add the coconut paste and saute for few seconds. (Image 6)
- Pour the tamarind water and bring to boil. (Image 7)
- Add the pressure cooked pachai mochai payaru into the boiling curry, cook for 10mins (+ or -) over simmer. (Image 8 and 9)
- Ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with White Rice and Appalam \ Pappad. |
