How to Make Sheela Meen Puttu | Easy Barracuda Fish Puttu Recipe!

Sura \ Vanjaram \ Sheela Meen - 250 gm (shark, seer fish or barracuda fish)
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garlic - 1 tbsp
Shallots - 1/4 cup
Green Chilli - 1 no (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Roasted Cumin seeds and Pepper Powder - 1 tbsp
Grated Coconut - 1/4 cup
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to Taste. |
Steps To Make The Fish Puttu :
- Boil 2cups of water with turmeric powder and salt, add in the fish pieces and cook for 3mins, take out the fish pieces and allow to cool little, then de-bone the fishes and shred into small pieces, keep aside. (Image 1)
- To make to the fish puttu, heat oil in a kadhai \ pan, saute the garlic, then add the shallots, green chilli and curry leaves, saute till the shallots turn light brown colour. (Image 2)
- Add the prepared shredded fish and required salt, and saute for 2mins over simmer. (Image 3)
- Sprinkle the cumin seeds and pepper powder, mix well. (Image 4)
- Add the coconut and again mix well and remove from the flame. (Image 5)
- Finally add the coriander leaves, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 6)
