Ingredients :

Thinai Arisi Maavu | Foxtail Millet Flour - 1\2 cup
Oats - 1\2 cup
Raisins - 1\4 cup
Butter - 60 gm
Powdered Brown Sugar - 1\2 cup
Milk - 1 tbsp (+ or -)
Desiccated Coconut - 1\4 cup
Baking Soda | Bicarbonate of Soda - 3\4 tsp
Salt - generous pinch.

Steps To Make The Thinai Oats Raisins Cookies | Millet Cookies:

  • Preparation, sieve the thinai flour, baking soda and salt for 2 to 3 times.
  • To make the cookie dough, cream the butter and powdered brown sugar till light in a mixing bowl. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Add in sieved thinai flour mixture, oats and milk, mix well. (Image 3)
  • Finally add the desiccated coconut and raisins, mix well and make soft dough. (Image 4 and 5)

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius and line the baking tray with the parchment paper.
  • Shape a tablespoon of dough into balls, place on the prepared baking tray with spacing 1 inch apart. (Image 6)
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Then cool the cookies on the tray for 5mins then transfer to racks and cool completely. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Do the same for the remaining dough.
  • Store in the air-tight box.
