Ingredients :

Nellikkai Sadam | Amla Rice
Large Nellikkai | Amla - 2 no
Mustard Seeds - 1\4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Kadalai Paruppu | Bengal Gram - 1 tbsp
Dry Red Chili - 3 no
Asafoetida - 1\4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Gingelly Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Cooked Rice - 2 to 3 cups.

Method :
Nellikkai Sadam | Amla Rice

Steps To Make The Nellikkai Sadam | Amla Rice:

  • Preparation, wash and finely grate the nellikkai, keep aside. (Image 1)
  • To make the nellikkai sadam, heat the oil in a kadhai and temper the mustard seeds. (Image 2)
  • After splutter, add in the urad dal, bengal gram and dry red chili, saute until the dal turns golden colour. (Image 3)
  • Add in the asafoetida and curry leaves, stir for few seconds. (Image 4)

  • Add in the grated nellikkai, mix well and cook for about an minute with required salt. (Image 5 and 6)
  • Finally add in the cooked rice, mix altogether and ready to serve. (Image 7 and 8)
