This chutney is made with very simple available ingredients only. Its little tangy and hot. Just grind the chutney mixture, temper and saute, that's all. Within 15 minutes we can make. Follow the recipe as below with easy step by step instructions, images and video..

Tomato Chutney | Naattu Takkali Chutney | Country Tomato Chutney

Ingredients :

Country Tomato | Naattu Takkali - 4 nos (sliced)
Garlic - 7 to 8 nos
Dry Red Chilies - 2 no
Salt - as required
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1\4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1\4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Asafoetida - 1\4
Method :
Grind the tomatoes, garlic, dry red chilies and required salt into paste without water.
Heat the oil in a kadhai, temper the mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add the curry leaves and asafoetida, stir well the asafoetida for few seconds to avoid lumps.
Add the ground tomatoes mixture, cook over medium flame for about five minutes or until its raw smell leaves completely and reached chutney consistency. Also stir in between.
Notes: Use bright red colour tomatoes. At the beginning, chutney looks light colour, after thickening it will turns into bright red colour.

Preparation, grind the tomatoes, garlic, dry red chilies and required salt into paste without water.

Then add the ground tomatoes mixture and mix well.
Cook over medium flame for about five minutes or until its raw smell leaves completely and reached chutney consistency. Stir in between. Tomato chutney is ready.
Serving Suggestion: Goes well with idli and dosai.

Delicious chutney, simple to prepare with only few ingredients. Tried many recipes just to replicate hotel style but everytime some thing will be missing either the colour or flavour. Just followed your recipe, it turned out yummy.
