Ingredients : |
Coconut - 1\4 cup |
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp |
Sambar Onion - 15 nos |
Garlic - 7 cloves |
Tomato - 1 no |
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (1 & 1\2 inch ball size) |
Red Chilli Powder - 1 & 1\2 tsps |
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Required Salt |
Green Chillies - 2 no (cut into 2 to 3 pieces) |
Curry Leaves - 2 to 3 sticks |
Viral Fish Pieces - 1\2 kg |
Sesame Oil - 2 tbsps |
Method : |
First grind the coconut and cumin seeds into paste, keep aside. |
Then grind the sambar onion, garlic and tomato into slightly coarsely paste, keep aside. |
In a clay vessel, add the ground coconut mixture, ground onion mixture, tamarind water, red chili powder, turmeric powder, green chilies, curry leaves and required salt. Mix all. |
Curry mixture should not be too thick, so adjust the water consistency as required. |
Heat up the curry mixture, bring to boil and cook for about five to seven minutes to remove its raw smell. |
Add in the viral fish pieces and immerse them in the curry. |
Bring to boil and then add the sesame oil. |
Cover and cook for about three minutes over medium flame. |
That's all and serve hot. |
Notes: Adjust the spiciness as per your taste. |
