Sweet Milk Jaggery Pongal / Pal Sakkarai Pongal


Ingredients :

Sweet Milk Jaggery Pongal / Pal Sakkarai Pongal

Raw Rice / Pachai Arisi - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Green Gram (Skinless & Split)  - 1/2 cup
Milk - 2 cup
Cashewnuts - 20 nos
Raisins - 20 nos
Crushed Cardamom - 3 nos
Ghee - 3 tbsp
Water - 3 cup

Method :

  • First Roast Cashewnut and Raisins with 2 tsp of Ghee and Keep aside.

Sweet Milk Jaggery Pongal / Pal Sakkarai Pongal

  • In a Pot, boil Milk and Water.
  • Add washed Raw Rice and Green Gram, cook for 20 - 25 mins in low flame, stir continuously to avoid sticking to the bottom and burning until Rice cook.
  • Add Jaggery, stir well until melts. (If the jaggery contains impurities, make syrup with 1/4cup of water, filter and then use.)

Sweet Milk Jaggery Pongal / Pal Sakkarai Pongal

  • Add crushed Cardamom, roasted Cashewnuts and Raisins. Stir well.
  • Finally add Ghee and stir well, turn off stove and ready to serve.

Sweet Milk Jaggery Pongal / Pal Sakkarai Pongal

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Methu Vadai \ Urad Dal Vadai.
