Simple Easy Tasty Coconut Burfi | Thengai Burfi - Diwali Special!

Ingredients :

Coconut Burfi
Coconut Shreds - 2 cups heaped
Sugar - 1 cup
Cardamom - 3 nos (crushed)
Ghee - 2 tsp

Method :

Steps To Make The Coconut Burfi \ Thengai Burfi :

  • First grind the coconut shreds little in a mixi for about 10 seconds. (Image 1)
  • Then grease a flat plate with 1 tsp of ghee and keep aside.

  • Combine the ground coconut shreds and sugar in a non-stick pan \ frying pan, then turn on the stove. (Image 2 and 3)
  • Stir continuously over low flame until the sugar melts completely. (Image 4)
  • Then add the food colour (optional) and mix well. (Image 5)
  • Finally add crushed cardamom and a teaspoon of ghee, mix well and remove from the heat.
Coconut Burfi
  • Immediately transfer the coconut-sugar mixture into the ghee greased plate and spread evenly.
  • When it is warm, cut into small pieces and ready to serve.
