Seer Fish Curry / Vanjaram Meen Kuzhambu


Ingredients :

Seer Fish Curry / Vanjaram Meen Kuzhambu

Seer Fish / Vanjaram Meen - 250 gm
Small Onion Paste - 15 nos 
Large Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp (divided)
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Coconut Paste - 3 tbsp
Tamarind Water - 1 cup (2" ball size)
Water - 1/2 cup
Oil - 3 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :

Seer Fish Curry / Vanjaram Meen Kuzhambu

  • First mix 1/4 tsp of Turmeric Powder and Salt with Fish pieces and shallow fry them for 2mins and keep aside.

  • Now heat Oil in a same Kadai, roast Pepper then add Onion paste and chopped Onion, saute until light golden colour.
  • Add Red Chili Powder and Turmeric Powder, saute until raw smell leaves.
  • Then add Tamarind Water, Water, Coconut Paste and required Salt, stir well and bring to boil, cook for 5mins in medium flame.

  • Now add Fish pieces and again cook for 5mins in medium flame and ready to serve.
