Milky Raw Papaya Kootu


Ingredients :

Milky Raw Papaya Kootu

Raw Papaya - 2 cups (skin peel off, chopped)
Onion - 1 no (chopped)
Green Chili - 2 nos (slit)
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stks
Coconut Paste - 2 tbsp
Gram Gram (skinless,split) - 1/4 cup
Boiled Milk - 1 cup
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt to taste.

Method :

Milky Raw Papaya Kootu

  • Heat Oil in a Pressure Cooker, first to temper, add Mustard Seeds and Urad Dal, after splutter add Onion and Green Chili, saute until light golden colour.
  • Then add chopped Papaya and saute for an minute.
  • Add Green Gram and saute for an minute.
  • Add Coconut Paste, Red Chili Powder, Cumin Seeds Powder and Turmeric Powder and again saute for an minute.

Milky Raw Papaya Kootu

  • Add Water and cook for 1 whistle and 3 mins in simmer.
  • When all the steam has escaped, open Pressure Cooker.
  • Add Boiled Milk, stir well and cook for few minutes and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Dry Mushroom / Kaalaan Sukka
