Soya Bean Lentils Masala Gravy


Ingredients :

Soya Bean Lentils Masala Gravy

Soya Bean Lentils - 1 cup (soak overnight and drain water)
Onion - 1 no (finely chopped)
Tomato - 1 no (finely chopped)
Green Chili - 1 no (finely chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger & Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Cinnamon Stick  - 2nos (2" long)
Cloves - 3 nos
Star Anise - 1 no
Cashew-nuts - 20 nos (blanch in hot water for 1/2 an hour and grind into paste)
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Mint Leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Fresh Cream - 2 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Butter - 2 tbsp 
Water - 1 cup 
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Soya Bean Lentils Masala Gravy

  • Heat Butter in a Pressure Cooker Pan, roast Cinnamon Stick, Cloves and Star Anise.
  • Add Onion and Curry Leaves, saute until light brown colour.
  • Add Green Chili, Ginger and Garlic paste, saute for an minute, til raw smell leaves.
  • Add Tomato, saute until smash well.

  • Add Mint and Coriander Leaves, saute for few seconds.
  • Add soaked Soya Bean Lentils and saute for an minute.
  • Now add Red Chili Powder, Cumin Seeds Powder and Turmeric Powder, saute until raw smell leaves.

  • Now add Cashew-nuts paste and required Salt, saute for few seconds.
  • Add Water, close the lid and cook for 1 whistle and 5mins in simmer. When all the steam has escaped, open Pressure Cooker.
  • Finally add Fresh Cream, mix well and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Poori / Puri, Chapathi, Dosa or Idly.
