Village Style Coconut Rava Upma | Coconut Sooji / Semolina Upma




Ingredients :

Village Style Coconut Rava Upma | Coconut Sooji / Semolina Upma

Rava / Sooji / Semolina - 1 cup
Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 no (finely chopped)
Green Chili - 2 nos (slit)
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Bengal Gram - 2 tsp (split)
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Coconut Shreds - 2 tbsp
Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

Method :

Steps To Make Village Style Coconut Rava Upma :
  • Dry roast the rava / semolina / sooji til very light golden brown colour and keep aside. (Image 1)
  • Temper the mustard seeds with hot oil, after splutter add urad dal, bengal gram and curry leaves, saute til light brown colour. (Image 2)
  • Add onion and green chili, saute until the onion becomes light brown colour. (Image 3)
  • Pour water and bring to boil. (Image 4)

  • Add roasted rava / sooji / semolina, stirring continuously without lumps til crumble texture. (Image 5 and 6)
  • Finally add coconut shreds, mix well. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Ready to serve.
