Toffee Banana | Caramel Banana Fritters | Morris Banana Fry | பொரித்த வாழைப்பழம் இனிப்பு



Ingredients :

Toffee Banana | Caramel Banana Fritters | Morris Banana Fry | பொரித்த வாழைப்பழம் இனிப்பு

Morris Banana - 1 no (big, sliced diagonally)
Maida / All Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup
Cornflour - 1/4 cup + 2 tsp
Dry Ginger Powder / Sukku - 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp
Sesame Seeds - 2 tsp
Oil for deep fry + 1 tsp
Salt - 1 Pinch
Bowl of ice water.

Caramel :

Sugar - 1/2 cup
Water - 2 tsp
Dry Ginger Powder / Sukku - 1/4 tsp

Method :

Steps To Make Caramel Banana Fritters :
  • To make batter, combine maida, cornflour (1/4 cup), baking powder, dry ginger powder, pinch of salt and oil together in a bowl. (Image 1)
  • Pour required water and mix well in a bajji batter consistency. (Image 2)

  • To make caramel, heat sugar and water together over simmer til brown colour, shaking the pan occasionally but don't stir. (Image 3)
  • Add in dry ginger powder and keep aside.

  • Parallel, dust the sliced banana with cornflour. (Image 4)
  • Dip the banana in the batter using fork and deep fry in the hot oil til golden colour and put them on paper towel to remove the excess oil. (Image 5, 6 and 7)

  • Carefully dip the banana fritters in the hot caramelized sugar one by one using fork, then immediately dip in a ice water bowl and place them on wire rack to drain the water. (Image 8, 9 and 10)
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve with Ice Cream.
