Poppy Seeds Payasam | கசகசா பாயசம் | Kasa Kasaa Payasam



Ingredients :

Poppy Seeds Payasam | கசகசா பாயசம் | Kasa Kasaa Payasam

Poppy Seeds - 1/3 cup
Milk - 4 cup
Boiled Milk - 1 cup
Cashew-nuts - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Cardamom - 3 pods
Ghee - 1 tbsp

Method :

Steps To Make Poppy Seeds Payasam:
  • Dry roast the poppy seeds til the fragrant arise and keep aside. (Image 1)
  • Similarly dry roast the cashew-nuts for few seconds and keep aside. (Image 2)
  • Grind the roasted poppy seeds, then add in roasted cashewnuts and again grind into fine paste with 1 cup of milk. (Image 3, 4, 5 and 6)

  • Boil the milk. (Image 7)
  • Add ground poppy seeds - cashews paste and mix well without lumps. Reduce the flame into simmer and cook for 5minutes, stir in between. (Image 8)
  • Add sugar, mix well, again cook for 5minutes and remove from the flame, stir in between. (Image 9)
  • Parallely ghee roast the cashew-nuts til light brown colour. (Image 10)
  • Add the cashew-nuts with ghee and mix well. (Image 11)
  • Finally add crushed cardamom, mix well and ready to serve. (Image 11)

Serving Suggestion : Serve warm or chill with Vadai.
