How To Make Garlic Butter Naan At Home Tawa Method | Indian Bread

All Purpose Flour \ Maida - 150 gm
Curd - 3 tbsp
Active Dry Yeast - 1/2 tbsp
Luke Warm Water - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1 tsp + 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil - 1 tbsp
Garlic - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Butter - required
Salt - required |
Steps To Proofing The Yeast :
- Take a 1/4 cup of lukewarm water (105F to 115F). Add a teaspoon of sugar into the lukewarm water and stir till its dissolved. (Image 1)
- Add in the active dry yeast and stir vigorously with a spoon until the yeast dissolve somewhat. (Image 2 and 3)
- Then cover with tight lid or wrap with cling film and set aside for 10 to 12 minutes. After 10 to 12minutes, the yeast has become foamy, then only it is ready to use. (Image 4)

Steps To Make The Naan Dough with Yeast :
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining teaspoon of sugar and required salt together and mix well. (Image 1)
- Add in the oil and curd, mix until crumbly. (Image 6 and 7)
- Then add the yeast mixture and knead into soft dough. (Image 8 and 9)
- Apply required oil on the dough and cover with wet cloth and set in a warm place for about 20 to 30 minutes or till its double in volume. (Image 10 and 11)

- Remove the cloth and press the dough lightly to remove the air, now the naan dough is ready (Image 12)
Steps To Make The Tawa Naan :
- Divide the dough into 5 equal parts. (Image 13)
- Take one part of dough and roll thinly into naan shape (water drop), sprinkle required garlic and press little. (Image 14)
- Cook on the hot iron tawa on both sides until the brown spots appear. (Image 15 and 16)

- Then generously spread the required butter on hot naan and serve immediately. (Image 17)
- Do the same for the remaining dough.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Chicken Tandoori, Paneer Butter Masala or any Non-Veg Gravy.
