Vegetables Tempura | Yasai Tempura | Easy Mixed Vegetable Tempura

Ingredients :

tempura
Carrot - 1 no ( julienne )
Pumpkin - 1/2 cup ( julienne )
Broccoli florets - 1/2 cup
Baby Corn - 3 to 4 no ( julienne )
Small Capsicum - 1 no ( julienne )
Maida - 1/2 cup
Cornflour - 2 tbsp
Ice Water - required
Ice cubes - required
Oil for deep fry
Salt to Taste.

Method :

Steps To Make The Mixed Vegetables Tempura :

  • Heat the oil in a kadhai \ pan to deep fry the vegetables tempura.
  • To make the tempura batter, mix the maida, corn flour and required salt in a mixing bowl, then add the required ice water and some ice cubes to keep the batter chill, mix and leave with some lumps. Also don't over mix the batter as may tends to soft when fried. (Image 1)
  • Working in batches, add some chopped vegetables and mix gently. (Image 2)

  • Deep fry the vegetables in the hot oil until light golden colour. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Drain the excess oil using tissue paper and serve immediately. (Image 5)
Notes :
- Tempura batter must be chill.
- Make the batter just before frying.
- To keep the batter chill, you can place the batter bowl over the ice cubes filled bowl.

Serving Suggestion: Serve the mixed vegetables tempura with garlic-honey-soya dipping sauce.
