Ingredients :

Steamed Butterscotch Cooker Cake
Maida | All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
Baking Powder - 1\2 tsp
Cooking Soda - 1\4 tsp
Unsalted Butter - 80 gms (room temperature)
Powdered Brown Sugar - 1\2 cup
Large Eggs - 2 nos (or use 3 nos)
Butterscotch Essence - 1 tsp
Aluminium Foil
Cooker

For Icing :


Butter - 200 gms
Icing Sugar - 600 gms
Butterscotch Essence - 1 tsp
Milk - required

To Moist The Cake :


Sugar - 1\2 cup
Water - 1 cup

Method :
Steamed Butterscotch Cooker Cake

Steps To Make The Steamed Butterscotch Cooker Cake :

  • Grease a 6" cake tin and dust by maida, keep aside. (Image 1)
  • Sieve the flour with baking powder and cooking soda for 2 to 3 times. (Image 2)
  • In a mixing powder, cream the butter and powdered brown sugar until light by using electric beater or whisk. (Image 3 and 4)
  • Beat in the egg one by one. (Image 5 and 6)

  • Fold in the sieved flour mixture and mix gently in one direction. If the batter is too thick, add some milk. (Image 7 and 8)
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared cake tin and tap gently on flat surface, to spread the batter evenly on all side. (Image 9)
  • Cover the cake tin with aluminium foil.
  • To steam, heat 3 to 3 and 1\2 cup of water in a cooker, bring to boil, place a stand and then place the cake tin carefully in the centre. (Image 10)

  • Cover the cooker with gasket and without whistle, steam for about 25 minutes (+ or -) over medium-high flame. (Image 11)
  • Test the cake by inserting a knife in the middle, if it comes out clean means cool the cake in the tin for 5 minutes. Then invert the cake on the rack and cool completely. Else again steam for 10minutes. (Image 12)
  • Similarly make another 6" cake and  6" jelly mold cake with same procedure. (Image 13)
  • Meantime, to make the sugar syrup, heat the sugar and water until the sugar dissolved and cool completely.

  • To make the icing, beat the butter and icing sugar with required milk into creamy texture. (Image 14)
  • Slice the prepared cake into 2 to 3 layers. (Image 15)
  • To moist the cake, brush the each layer with some sugar syrup evenly. (Image 15)
  • Then arrange the cake layer one by one with some icing. (Image 16)
  • Wrap the barbie doll body with cling film and insert in the middle and decorate with the remaining icing. (Image 17)
