Ingredients :

Kambu | Bajra | Pearl Millet - 1 cup
Karuppatti | Palm Jaggery - 3\4 cup
Cashews - 1\4 cup
Cardamom - 3 nos (crushed)
Ghee - 1\2 cup
Water - 6 cups

Method :

Steps To Make The Kambu | Bajra | Pearl Millet Halwa:

  • Preparation, soak the kambu for overnight with enough water.
  • To make the kambu milk, grind the soaked kambu with two cup of water and drain the milk using metal siever. (Image 2, 3 and 4)
  • Again grind the kambu solids with two cup of water, drain the milk and keep aside. (Image 4)

  • Separately make the jaggery syrup with a cup of water and keep aside. (Image 5)
  • To make the kambu halwa, In a heavy bottom kadhai, add the prepared kambu milk and two cup of water, mix well and cook over medium-simmer flame by stirring continuously. (Image 6)
  • When mixture turns little thick, filter the palm jaggery syrup into the halwa mixture. (Image 7)
  • Turn the flame into simmer and cook by stirring continuously. When the mixture turns into halwa stage (not too thick because it will turns hard once cooled), add the ghee little by little and mix well. (Image 8)

  • Parallely ghee roast the cashews and add the roasted cashews into the halwa mixture, mix well and remove from the flame. (Image 10 and 11)
  • Cool the mixture little and serve.
