Sheela Meen | Barracuda Fishes - 250 gm
Shallots | Sambar Onion - 12 nos
Small Tomato - 1 no
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 2 cloves
Curry Leaves - 1 strike
Red Chili Powder - 1 and 1\2 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1\2 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1\2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Salt - as required
Oil for deep fry.

Steps To Make The Sheela Meen Varuval | Barracuda Fish Fry Recipe:

  • To make the masala, grind the shallots, tomato, ginger, garlic and curry leaves into fine paste. (Image 1 and 2)
  • Add the red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and required salt, again grind well and the masala is ready. (Image 3 and 4)

  • Then marinate the fish pieces with the prepared shallots-tomato masala for an hour. (Image 5)
  • Then shallow fry the fish pieces on both sides and ready to serve. (Image 6 and 7)
