Kaadai Muttai Masala | Quail Eggs Masala Recipe - Last sunday only I bought dozen of kaadai muttai from the near by super market. I am surprised to see the eggs, they are very small in size and about 1 inch diameter to 1 and 1\2 inch only. Also the shells contains some brown and black spots. My amma said, the rotten eggs are float in the water and will not immerse. Also when you shake the egg, it will move. Like this we checked the kaadai muttai. But most of the kaadai muttai's are floated in the water and moved while shaking (see the image 1). We are shocked and thought they are rotten eggs. But after cooked the eggs they are good and not rotten 😃😃 How?? We Don't know. Now lets see how to make this kaadai muttai masala | quail eggs masala recipe with easy step by step images and instructions.

Ingredients :

Kaadai Muttai | Quail Eggs - 12 no
Oil - 1 and 1\2 tbsp
Onion - 1 no (finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Tomato - 1 no (finely chopped)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder - 1\2 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1\2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp
Salt - as required
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves - 1 stk
Method :

Steps To Make The Kaadai Muttai Masala:

To cook the kaadai muttai, In a pan add 2 cups of water and some crystal salt. Then heat and boil for about five minutes. Then rinse with ordinary water, cool the eggs and remove the outer shell. Slice the eggs into half and keep aside.
To make the kaadai muttai masala, heat the oil in a kadhai, add the onion and saute till slightly golden colour. Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till its raw smell leaves.
Add the tomato and cook till soft. Add the red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and required salt, stir for few seconds. Then add some water and cook till the raw masala leaves completely. After that add the boiled kaadai muttai's and cook till the masala turns dry. Finally add the coriander leaves and curry leaves, mix well and serve hot.
My Notes: Kaadai eggs are cooks fast, so boiling five minutes is enough to cook.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with the kaadai biryani, sambar rice, dal rice or rasam rice.
