Ugadi | Telugu New Year Special Recipe - Apple Halwa | Ugadi Special | How To Make Delicious Apple Halwa - One of my favorite halwa. Made with the simple ingredients only. For the first time, I used cornflour, it turned the halwa texture into very soft and smooth, with less effort we could easily get the right halwa consistency. Ghee also used very less quantity only. It melts in mouth and divine. Now lets see how to make this delicious apple halwa with easy step by step instructions, images and video.

Recipe :

Apple Halwa | Ugadi Special | How To Make Apple Halwa

Ingredients :

Milk - 500 ml
Apples - 2 nos
Grated Khoya - 1 cup
Sugar - 1\2 cup to 3\4 cup
Cornflour - 1 tsp
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
Ghee - 1\4 tsp
Cashews - 2 tbsp (roughly chopped)
Almonds - 2 tbsp (roughly chopped)
Method :
Preparation, peel off the apples skin and chop into small pieces for about half inch thickness.
To make the halwa, In a heavy kadhai, heat the milk and bring to boil. Add the apple pieces and cook for about ten minutes over medium flame or cook until the apples turn soft, by stirring frequently.
Cool the apple mixture and grind into fine paste.
In the same kadhai, add the ground apple paste, khoya and sugar, mix well and cook for about two to three minutes.
Separately mix the cornflour with some water, add the cornflour water into the halwa mixture, mix well and cook over medium flame, by stirring frequently.
When it turns halwa consistency, turn the flame into lower and add the cardamom powder, mix well.
Separately ghee roast the cashews and almonds, mix with the halwa mixture. That's all.
Notes: Use heavy kadhai. Milk will curdle because of the apple's little sour taste. Keep stirring frequently to avoid sticking at the bottom.
