Ingredients : |
Hard Boiled Eggs - 5 nos (sliced into two or three) |
Onion - 1\2 no |
Garlic cloves - 3 to 5 nos or Omam \ Carrom Seeds - 1\4 tsp |
Green Chili - 1 no |
Besan Flour - 1 cup |
Rice Flour - 1\4 cup |
Red Chili Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Turmeric Powder - 1\4 tsp |
Asafoetida - 2 pinches |
Cooking Soda - 1 pinch |
Required Salt |
Required Water |
Oil for deep fry |
Method : |
Grind the onion, garlic cloves and green chili into paste with little water. |
In a mixing bowl, add the besan flour, rice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, cooking soda and salt, mix well altogether. |
Add the ground paste and required water, mix without lumps, consistency should be little thick and flow like ribbon, |
Dip the sliced egg in the batter and coat the batter well. |
Deep fry in the hot oil until slightly golden brown color. |
Drain them on a kitchen tissue and serve hot. |
Notes: Batter consistency should not be too thick or thin otherwise it will not coat the egg and drip. |

Instead of garlic, can also use 1\4 tsp of omam (optional) |
In a mixing bowl, add the besan flour, rice, red chili powder, turmeric
powder, asafoetida, cooking soda and salt. |
