Ridge Gourd Skin Thogayal / Peerkangai Thol Thuvaiyal


Ingredients :

Ridge Gourd Skin Thogayal / Peerkangai Thol Thuvaiyal

Ridge Gourd Skin / Peerkangai Thol - 1 no (medium size)
Coconut - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Garlic - 5 nos
Tamarind - 1" ball size
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Dry Red Chili - 3 nos
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste.

To Temper :

Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal / Black Gram (skinless) - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves -2 stks

Method :

Ridge Gourd Skin Thogayal / Peerkangai Thol Thuvaiyal

Steps To Make Ridge Gourd Skin Thogayal :
  • First fry the urad dal and dry red chili, then coconut and garlic, then ridge gourd skin and tamarind separately with a tsp of oil and allow to cool them all. (shown in above image)
  • Then grind into fine paste altogether with required water.

  • Now to temper, heat a tsp of oil, add mustard seeds and urad dal, after splutter add the curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
  • Add ground paste and saute for about 1 minute and ready to serve.

Serving Suggestion : Serve hot with Soft Idly or Dosa
