Eraal | Prawns - 250 gm (cleaned) |
Onion - 1 no (diced) |
Ginger - 1 " |
Garlic - 3 to 4 cloves |
Green Chilli - 1 no |
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp |
Turmeric Powder - 1\2 tsp |
Garam Masala - 1\2 tsp |
Vinegar - 1 tbsp (or lemon juice - 2 tsp) |
Oil - 1 tbsp |
Asafoetida - 1\4 tsp |
Curry Leaves - 2 stk |
Salt - as required |
Method : |
For the masala, grind the onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and vinegar into fine paste without water, keep aside. |
Heat the oil in a kadhai, add the prawns and cook for about two minutes or until its moisture reduced. Add the asafoetida and ground masala, mix well and cook for an minute over medium-low flame. Add the curry leaves, required salt and quarter cup of water, mix well. Cook until dry, by stirring in between frequently and serve hot. |
Notes: Prawns cook fast. If it's overcooked, it will turns rubbery texture, so keep an eye and check in between. |
