Kambu Maavu | Bajra | Pearl Millet Flour - 1 cup |
Apple - 1\4 cup (grated) |
Ghee - 1 tsp |
Salt - generous pinch |
Water - required |
Black Dates - 2 tbsp (chopped) |
Cashews - 2 tbsp (chopped) |
Raisins - 2 tbsp (chopped) |
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp |
Ghee - required |
Method : |
To make the kambu roti dough, In a mixing bowl, add the kambu flour, grated apple, ghee and pinch of salt. Mix well altogether. Then add required water and make very soft dough. Rest ten minutes. |
Then mix the dates, cashews, raisins and cardamom powder. Divide the dough into four parts. |
To make the kambu roti, heat the iron tawa, take one part of dough, put it in the tawa center, using fingers, spread into circle for about half inch thickness. Cook on both sides with required ghee, over lower flame. Serve hot. |
Notes: Make soft dough to spread the roti easily. Cook over low flame to cook evenly. For more sweetness, can also add jaggery syrup or sugar. |
