Karapodi Meen Kuzhambu | How To Make Karapodi Meen Kuzhambu

Ingredients :

Tamarind Water - 1 cup (1 and 1\2" ball size)
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp (heaped)
Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 tsp (heaped)
Turmeric Powder - 1\2 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
Tomato - 1 no (medium size)
Gingelly Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1\2 tsp
Urad dal - 1\2 tsp
Fenugreek - 1\4 tsp
Sambar Onion - 1 cup (chopped)
Green Chilies - 3 no 
Garlic Cloves - 15 nos
Curry Leaves - 2 stk
Required Salt
Karapodi Meen - 500 gms (cleaned)
Method :
Preparation, In a mixing bowl, add the tamarind water, red chili powder, coriander seeds powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, cumin seeds powder and tomato, by using hand mash them and keep aside.
To make the curry, heat the oil, temper the mustard seeds, urad dal and fenugreek. After crackle add the onion, green chilies and curry leaves. Saute until the onion turns slightly golden colour. Add the mashed tamarind-tomato mixture, one cup of water and required salt, mix and bring to boil. Cover with lid and boil for about ten minutes to remove its raw smell, over medium flame. Then add the karapodi fish piece and mix them. Cover and boil for about two to three minutes. Ready.
Notes: Cook the tamarind-tomato mixture well to remove its raw smell, then add the fish pieces. Fishes cook fast so two to three minutes are enough.
